What is the corner Spot?
Welcome to your Corner Spot – Ashland’s backyard. This space was created as a shared, sustainable community gathering place and incubator for pop up businesses. It is a place in downtown Ashland where residents can come together while enjoying a variety of potential additions to the Ashland business community. Businesses can “pop up” every week to testdrive their market. Even more than a business opportunity, The Corner Spot serves as: • your downtown destination • the place to catch up on town news and watch the kids play • a place to have dinner with family and friends and enjoy music and dancing • a business meeting location with free wi-fi • a destination to connect with a friend on a porch swing It is a place that always has something for children and is a safe and comfortable environment to sit, relax and enjoy the sounds of the town. The Corner Spot has brought new life into our downtown incorporating outdoor seating and tables, porch swings, a free mini library, kids play area and a place that gives us a bright glimpse of the future of Ashland's downtown area.

Is there parking at The Corner Spot?
There is convenient street parking on Main Street and plenty of parking behind Ashland Town Hall in the municipal lot off Main Street and Cherry Street adjacent to the Corner Spot.
What are the benefits for my business to “pop up” at The Corner Spot?
The Corner Spot is intended to stimulate economic activity, attract new developers and business owners, and increase foot traffic downtown to help support existing and future business. The Corner Spot Store Front is a 300 square foot building that offers companies the opportunity to test their business plan with the hopes of finding permanent space in Ashland.
How do I reserve The Corner Spot Store Front to hold a pop-up shop?
We are seeking new and existing businesses that would like to test the market in a downtown setting, looking for growth, and planning to continue their business in a permanent location. The cost for renting the store front is $100 per week which covers utilities and rental fees. Can I reserve The Corner Spot for parties or events?
Yes! The Corner Spot can be rented by Ashland Residents and Town of Ashland Employees. Events must be open to the public, as this location cannot be blocked off for private use. There is a $50 charge to rent The Corner Spot for maintenance expenses. For more information on how to book your event at the Corner Spot, please contact us by emailing Beth, breynolds@ashlandmass.com or Jillian, JSuess@ashlandmass.com If you seek a private space to host a gathering, such as a birthday party, contact the Ashland Day Committee to use the Stone Park Pavilion.
Is The Corner Spot open when there is nothing open in the store front?
Yes! The Corner Spot is meant to be Ashland’s backyard and a place residents can use year round. It’s the perfect destination to spend a fun family afternoon, meet up with friends, read a book or bring a picnic even when there is nothing open in the store front.
Who can go to The Corner Spot?
The Corner Spot is open to anyone and everyone!

Is there Wi-Fi at The Corner Spot?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available, no password is needed
Can I bring my dog to The Corner Spot?
Yes, dogs are allowed on leash. Please pick up after your dog or this privilege will no longer be available.

Is there a bathroom at The Corner Spot?
Yes, there is a bathroom in The Corner Spot Storefront; however, it will be locked when the storefront is not in use.

Can I bring alcohol to The Corner Spot?
Alcohol is not permitted without prior approval from the Select Board for special events.
Can I bring outside food to The Corner Spot?
Absolutely! You can bring food from home or order takeout from local restaurants and bring it to The Corner Spot.
Can I promote my business or event at The Corner Spot?
Yes, there is a large bulletin board on the side of the shed for flyers and information regarding your business or event.
Are there any other rules at The Corner Spot?
This is a shared public space. Please help keep it enjoyable and safe for everyone by following a few guidelines:
• Be courteous and respectful to others and the environment
• Keep the Spot clean – there are trash and recycling receptacles on site
• Replace things after you use them
• Leash and clean up after dogs
• Practice leaving no traces, random acts of kindness, and being an independent role model
