Juneteenth with Ashland is United

  • The Corner Space 6 Cherry Street Ashland, MA, 01721 United States (map)

Food, Music, and Conversation

It's been a while since we could gather in person, and we are thrilled that new beginnings are on the way.

Core to Ashland is United’s mission is to build and strengthen bridges where they don't exist and educate and expose people to new information and ideas. We hope you will join them for an informal gathering to connect and learn on June 19th noon-2:00pm at the Corner Spot.

In addition to conversation and laughter, AiU also will be honoring and recognizing Juneteenth - a combination of "June" and "Nineteenth." It is a celebration of the day in 1865 that word of President Lincoln's signing of the Emancipation Proclamation, freeing all slaves, made its way to the state of Texas. As allies, AiU will share resources on black Americans’ struggle for independence and the disenfranchisement that has continued long after slavery ended.
